If slapping your signature on the Declaration of Independence is a dream of yours, then today is your lucky day. Seattle and San Fran-based DocuSign and the Spirit of Liberty Foundation are allowing everyday folks to electronically sign the iconic document to show their support of American troops and their families.
If you’d like to see your signature alongside the likes of Ben Franklin and John Adams, you can head over to signhistory.org to simply electronically sign, download and print. The site also allows you to donate to the Spirit of Liberty Foundation to help support soldiers, especially those wounded, and their families, or the families of those who have died in service.
The Declaration of Independence project is also being featured at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., this week and at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., starting next week. Delegates will be able to sign and take their own Declarations home. DocuSign will take its Declaration of Independence project on the road for 2013, visiting several cities across America.
This has been a big year for DocuSign. Earlier in August, we wrote about the company securing $55.7 million in its latest series of series D financing, including support form Google Ventures. DocuSign attacts about 60,000 users per day.
