Team GeekWire had a great time at Seattle 2.0 Startup Day in Bellevue yesterday, catching up with all of you and learning from a great lineup of speakers. A big thanks to everyone who attended and supported the event. This was the fourth annual Startup Day, and GeekWire’s first year as organizer. We’re especially grateful for the entrepreneurial energy that everyone brought to the event.
Apart from the steady flow of insights from the main stage, highlights included the live Elevator Pitch competition, won by BuildersCloud, a filesharing service for the construction industry. In addition to the prize of $1,000 in credits from Amazon Web Services, the winner received a surprise bonus — a $1,000 personal check from one of our judges, Ignition’s Frank Artale.
Over in the Startup Resource Center, the advice and answers were flowing from our experts. John Cook and I had a great time interviewing our keynoter, the entertaining and informative Box CEO Aaron Levie, to wrap up the day on the main stage, leading into the after-party.
Thanks to sponsors Bing, Microsoft BizSpark, Amazon Web Services, Perkins Coie, Turnstone, UW Technology Management MBA Program, Bader Martin, UW Information School, AterWynne, Vitamin T, VP Tax, Twilio, SEOmoz and CloudMunch for making this unique event possible.
We’ll be posting more highlights on GeekWire in the coming days, but in the meantime, here’s a sampling of pictures from the event. Click on any image to open a gallery. We’ve also posted the pictures on our Facebook page for tagging and sharing.
