Now, here’s a pairing we’d love to see at GeekWire’s upcoming ping-pong tournament. At the Berkshire Hathaway annual meeting earlier this week, billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett busted out some ping pong paddles to take on U.S. Olympic ping-pong master Ariel Hsing.
“I held my own for a while, but she creamed me when she brought her “real” game. I think I did a bit better than Warren,” Gates wrote in a blog post. Here’s the photo that Gates’ posted to his Twitter account under the message “I learn something every time I’m w Warren. But it’s not all business at Berkshire shareholders mtg.”
Gates didn’t fare as well in a newspaper-tossing competition, promoting the fact that Berkshire Hathaway recently bought the Omaha Herald.
“I was a paperboy growing up, but I didn’t do as well as Warren as we lobbed Omaha Herald newspapers (in front of a large gathering of media) onto the porch of a Clayton modular home (also a Berkshire company) set up in the exhibition center. I think Warren had been practicing,” Gates wrote.
