There’s nothing like a little bit of controversy in tech circles, especially when it comes to mustaches. Our competition this month for the best stache in Seattle tech — as part of the Movember fundraiser — led some readers to question whether we knew anything about whiskers at all. (Obviously, given my lame attempt at growing a stache, I do not!)
One reader asked why we didn’t turn over the voting to the community, to which I respond: “You’re right!”

So, while we will continue to recognize Amazon.com software manager Aravanan Sivaloganathan, we’re also expanding the competition to include a newly-formed “People’s Choice Award.” The winner will receive two free tickets to the GeekWire Gala on Dec. 6th at McCaw Hall. Voting will end Sunday at noon Pacific time.
