Next stop, Australia: A scene from PAX in Seattle last August.

PAX is going Down Under.

Penny Arcade, the Seattle-based video-game webcomic and commentary site responsible for the giant Penny Arcade Expo events, confirmed over the weekend that the first PAX Australia will be held July 19-21, 2013 in Melbourne.

PAX, also known as the “Woodstock for gamers,” started in the Seattle region and has since expanded to Boston, but the Melbourne stop will mark its first big international event. PAX events draw people from all around the country for several days days of gaming, panels, concerts … and tons and tons of cosplay.

If you’re in Australia, or in the mood for a trip, you can register here for the Australia expo. Single day passes are $45, while a three-day pass will cost you $115. Unfortunately for comic fans, the Comic-Con 2013 show will be taking place at the same time in San Diego.
