John Connors

INRIX continues to add horsepower to its board, as the Kirkland provider of traffic data preps for an initial public offering. The latest addition is John Connors, a venture capitalist at Bellevue-based Ignition Partners who previously served as CFO of Microsoft.

That’s a big-name election for INRIX, which crowd sources data from nearly 100 million vehicles throughout the world in an effort to provide more reliable traffic data.

Last month, INRIX reportedly picked Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. to help lead the efforts on a 2013 IPO that could raise up to $100 million. The company raised a $37 million round of venture capital and purchased its largest European rival for $60 million last year.

Interestingly, Ignition is not an investor in INRIX, a company led by former Microsoft manager Bryan Mistele.

“John’s experience in corporate finance and building new businesses is invaluable as INRIX enters new markets and builds relationships with new customers,” said Mistele.  Connors also sits on the board of Nike and Splunk.

INRIX has been bolstering its board and management team in recent months as a possible sign of its intentions to go public, adding former Blue Nile CEO Diane Irvine in July.
