Well, it looks like, we’re going to have to wait a little bit before we get to hear from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. Last week, it came to light that the two dignitaries were set to jointly announce the “Kindle Mobile Learning Initiative” on June 20 in Washington, D.C., part of an appearance to discuss the newly-formed alliance between Amazon and the U.S. State Department.

But word came today that the event has been postponed until a later day.

What’s up? Maybe more pressing foreign policy matters for Clinton, or does Bezos have something new up his sleeve?

The Kindle initiative “will create a global e-reader program that introduces aspects of U.S. society and culture directly to young people, students, and international audiences in new ways and expands English language learning opportunities worldwide,” according to the State Department.

Last week, Amazon.com received a five-year contract worth $16.5 million to deliver tens of thousands of Kindle electronic readers to educational centers around the world.
