Jon Stewart describing what would happen if someone wore the Google glasses in NYC

The weird and wild gyrations of the technology industry are certainly open to ridicule. And comedian Jon Stewart of The Daily Show had some fun Tuesday evening taking on two of the giants of the Internet, sharing some of his thoughts about Google’s new invention, the futuristic augmented reality eyeglasses, and Facebook’s mammoth purchase of online photo sharing service Instagram.

After showing the video of a user’s possible daily life experience with Google’s dorky eyeglasses, Stewart offered this classic line of what actually might happen: “Let me say something: In New York City, that mother****** is going to be hit by car.”

Stewart appeared even more skeptical about Instagram, calling it “really lame.”

Upon hearing that Facebook paid $1 billion for the service, the comedian quipped:

“A billion dollars of money? For a thing that kind of ruins your pictures? The only Instagram worth a billion dollars would be an app that instantly gets you a gram…”

You can watch the full epsiode here, which just so happens to include a Q&A with entrepreneur and Internet pioneer Elon Musk. Here’s the segment where Stewart offers some comic relief related to Google and Facebook.
