We’re still waiting for that official Google+ app for Windows Phone, but the Google Sync team just released some updates that will be welcomed by people using Google services on the Microsoft mobile platform.

Google enabled the ability to sync multiple Google calendars (up to 25!) to Windows Phone, added the option to send mail from custom Gmail addresses and enhanced the email search feature to include messages that haven’t yet been downloaded to the phone. The options can be accessed at m.google.com/sync on the mobile device.

More details in this Google Sync post and Microsoft’s Windows Phone blog.

Microsoft’s Windows Phone still has a small fraction of the market, compared with Google Android devices and Apple’s iPhone, but the Redmond company is starting to see some new traction thanks to its Nokia partnership. More than 1 million Nokia Lumia Windows Phones have been sold to date.

Engadget tested the new Google calendar options, which worked on one of their Windows Phones, but required deleting and reassigning the Google account on another.

Google says the features are supported on Windows Phone Mango devices (7.5+). The company’s main mobile search app is available for Windows Phone, as well.
