We’re expecting a capacity crowd of more than 400 folks this Wednesday afternoon for the first-ever GeekWire Summit & Anniversary Party. And with speakers like Hulu CTO Richard Tom, entrepreneur Ray Ozzie and University of Washington computer scientist Oren Etzioni, we know that the discussions will be compelling and insightful for anyone interested in learning about where things are headed in the fast-moving tech industry.

You can purchase tickets and check out the full agenda here, which also includes executives and engineers from Facebook, Rhapsody, T-Mobile, Swype and more.

But we’ve got a few other special things in store too. After all, Wednesday, March 7th is GeekWire’s first birthday. To help us party in style, we’re excited to announce that Dave Dederer — perhaps the geekiest member of Seattle rock band Presidents of the United States of America — will play a few tunes and talk about what’s next in music.

A digital music veteran who now works at HP, Dave will serve as a natural bridge between the conference and the birthday party. Obviously, we’re pumped to have such a legendary Seattle musician in the lineup.

We’ve got some other good news to share too. Based on demand from the GeekWire community, we’ve decided to open up tickets for the party portion of the event. Things will get rolling at 5 p.m., so if you can’t make it to all of the great talks during the day, just come out and celebrate with us and hundreds of other geeks.

General admission tickets for the party cost $50, while developers can come out for $35. More details here.

The Summit portion of the event will start at 1 p.m. at the WSCC Conference Center in downtown Seattle (directly north of the Convention Center on Pike Street), with former Microsoft chief software architect Ray Ozzie kicking things off in a fireside chat with Todd Bishop and John Cook.  We have a limited number of tickets left for the Summit, so make sure to pick yours up today by going here.

Can’t wait to see everyone this Wednesday!!
