We’re gearing up for our big GeekWire Summit, the inaugural half-day conference March 7 in downtown Seattle. Last week we announced the participation of former Microsoft chief software architect Ray Ozzie, Hulu CTO Richard Tom, and UW computer science luminary Oren Etzioni. Today we’re pleased to announce more industry veterans who will be sharing insights from the Summit stage.

Joining us for the event will be Jocelyn Goldfein, Facebook director of engineering, who is coming up from California to share insights on the growth of the social networking powerhouse; Hadi Partovi, the former Microsoft executive and veteran Seattle entrepreneur known for ventures including iLike and Tellme; Cole Brodman, the chief marketing officer of Bellevue-based T-Mobile USA; and Mike McSherry, the CEO of Swype, the successful Seattle-based mobile input startup sold last year to Nuance Communications.

We’ll be announcing more details and participants in the coming days, and if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, be sure to sign up soon. Tickets for the event are available here, with special rates for developers and early bird pricing through Feb. 15.

Ed Lazowska, the longtime UW computer science professor, will also be joining us as a moderator of one of the GeekWire Summit panels.

A big thanks to our sponsors for this event: Filter, InfoSpace, Amazon Web Services, and Christensen O’Connor Johnson Kindness. Contact Rebecca Lovell, GeekWire’s chief business officer, at rebecca@geekwire.com for sponsorship opportunities.

Our goal with the GeekWire Summit is to give attendees insights into future tech trends — including mobile technologies, digital media, cloud computing, the Internet and more  — plus an inside look at how successful tech companies are built from the ground up, straight from the people responsible for building them. We’ll be engaging our speakers in lively, fireside chat discussions, and inviting the audience to participate in the conversation.

And if the date March 7 sounds familiar, that’s because it’s GeekWire’s one-year anniversary. The conference will conclude with a big after-party to celebrate the occasion, and everyone who comes to the conference will be able to attend.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on March 7.
