Scott Durchslag speaks at Expedia's HQ in December.

Scott Durchslag has resigned as president of Expedia Worldwide after just 13 months on the job. Durchslag previously worked as chief operating officer of Skype and corporate vice president at Motorola.

The departure from the online travel giant is somewhat surprising in part because Durchslag just last month was an active participant in Expedia’s media day. At the event in Bellevue, Durchslag laid out “Web 3.0,” where the experience and information are streamed to the user on the go.

An Expedia spokeswoman confirmed the resignation, but declined to say why he left. Expedia CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has assumed the role of president of Expedia Worldwide.
