The end of Endless: Amazon pulls plug on fashion site

Amazon.com is shutting down Endless.com, the five-year-old high-end online fashion site that sold handbags, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. The site will be turned off on September 27th, with the service integrated directly with Amazon.com/Fashion.

Amazon has been making some big bets in the high-end fashion market, and we’ve talked about the growing rivalry between the online retailer and Nordstrom. In fact, Nordstrom earlier this year invested in five-year-old men’s online fashion startup Bonobos,

Of course, Amazon retains the Zappos brand, which also sells shoes, clothing and accessories. It purchased Zappos for about 2009 for $1.2 billion. Amazon also retains the private daily deal site for fashion items, MyHabit.

    I feel as though Amazon have learned a lot from this foray. Amazon Fashion will be able to pick up the torch and run with it so that the fire enkindled years ago will continue to burn. HD.
