Update: See this follow-up post with pictures from the event.

Intuit, the company behind the Quicken financial software, is shutting down a portion of 2nd Avenue in downtown Seattle on Tuesday and inviting people to drive golf balls down the middle of the street.

The stunt is a promotion for the Intuit GoPayment service. Golf pro Jeff Coston will be charging $3 for a bucket or $5 for a 10-minute lesson, and accepting payments using the Intuit solution.

The company will also be filming a television commercial during the stunt, according to the Downtown Seattle Association.

If you’re downtown tomorrow, the event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m between University and Seneca streets.

The association says there will be 30 foot nets up to protect the adjacent buildings (and passersby).
