Cable giant Comcast announced today that it is expanding its call center operations in the Puget Sound area, adding 180 new jobs in Fife, Lynnwood and Everett. About 140 positions will be added in Lynnwood and Everett, while 40 positions will be added in Fife.

The company, the largest cable provider in the state, employs about 1,300 call center employees in the state.

“The additional jobs are part of an on-going call center strategy to align Comcast’s care facilities across the western half of the country into specialized Centers of Excellence, dedicated to serving customers with specific product and service needs,” said Comcast spokesman Steve Kipp. “These centers will enable us to create areas of specialization and an enhanced customer experience. This means that customers will receive faster resolution the first time they call and interact with customer service experts who have the tools and resources to provide a great experience.”
