A weekend shooting near Seattle Center damaged windows at the headquarters of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Seattle Police Department says.

No one was injured, and the Gates Foundation doesn’t appear to have been the target of the shooting, which also damaged cars that were parked in the neighborhood.

The Gates Foundation moved to its new campus across from the Space Needle last year, and just recently opened a new visitors center there. We’ve checked with the foundation to see if it wants to comment.

SPD says it received reports of shots fired in the area of 5th Avenue and Mercer Street not long after midnight on Saturday.

Officers checked the area and didn’t find anything at the time, but later that afternoon, SPD started receiving calls about damage to vehicles in the area, and later determined that there had also been damage to some of the Gates Foundation windows.
