It was a good Black Friday for Amazon.com, but the stakes are especially high for the online retailer today as office workers return to their desks for some Cyber Monday deal-hunting. Here is the virtual doorbuster: A Kindle Fire for $129.

That’s $30 off the normal price, a steep discount that could result in many of the Kindle Fire tablets under the tree. Amazon is limiting the promotion to one per customer, and making it available via a special promo code at checkout.

Amazon got the buzz going in advance by teasing the discount on Facebook and Twitter.

This is the updated version of the original 7-inch, 8GB Kindle Fire tablet — not the new Kindle Fire HD, which remains $199 for the 7-inch 16GB version, and $299 for the 8.9-inch 16 GB version.

Sean Portnoy has a good roundup of other Cyber Monday tablet deals on ZDNet.
