We’ve been hard at work building GeekWire over the past 16 months, striving to bring you top-notch technology news and fun community events. It hasn’t been easy running a 24-7 news operation with just three of us, but we love what we do and we’re humbled that so many of you join us every day either on the Web site, through our daily email newsletter or at our events.

Increasingly, more of you are keeping tabs on us via Facebook. And, on Friday, we blew past the 10,000 mark when Liz Gillespie — a Seattle writer and editor with All Star Directories — pushed us over the milestone.

Of course, we’re not stopping at 10,000. We have so much more we’d like to accomplish on the social media front, and we know that we’re just scratching the surface.

We also have a lot of fun stuff in the works as we head into the second half of the year, from our Summer Bash and Ping Pong/Foosball tournament on June 21 to the entrepreneurial geekfest of Startup Day on September 22nd.

We hope you’ll join us at those events. But, if not, we appreciate those who visit us each day on the site, via email or on Facebook and Twitter. We’ll also be launching new services in the coming days, community-oriented assets from our recent acquisition of Seattle 2.0, adding to the job board that we unveiled last year. Look for those new features soon.

But don’t worry. We’ll always be about the news, making sure we are on the front-lines of the latest in the ever-changing technology world. We’re bolstering our efforts there too in an effort to make sure that we don’t miss a beat when it comes to the things that matter in tech.

Thanks again to everyone for tuning in.
