The organizers of “The Next Fifty,” a series of events that will mark the anniversary of the Seattle World’s Fair next year, are teaming up with other groups on Saturday for a hack day — inviting web and mobile developers to create prototype apps and games associated with Seattle Center, with the possibility that their digital creations will be used during The Next Fifty celebrations next year.

The free, 10-hour event will take place in Belltown starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow. Participants are also expected to make the short trek to Seattle Center, as well, as part of their projects. The day will include food, prizes and a party.

Organizers of the event are the Washington Economic Development Commission, The Next Fifty, and Web Directions, which runs the Unplugged conference. Some slots are left, and registration is required. Details and sign-up here.
