It’s sleek. It’s cool. And people from all over the city are traveling to see it (and grab a taste from it). It’s the Coca-Cola Freestyle, a futuristic, self-service touchscreen beverage dispenser which delivers 106 flavor combos in an instant. (Caffeine-free Diet Coke with Orange anyone?) The soda fountain made its debut in Seattle this month at a few Taco Time restaurants, so I popped by the Elliott Avenue location to give it a whirl.

I mixed up one of my all-time favorites, a Vanilla Coke. And while it was pretty good, I still prefer the handcrafted masterpieces of Burgermaster. Nonetheless, it is pretty cool to see the soda fountain in action, which boasts some high-tech wizardry from Seattle area companies Bsquare and Impinj.

Turns out that I missed the media presentation this morning, but Wendy of Taco Time jumped into action and gave me a quick look at the machine anyway.

Meanwhile, here’s a funny video of a dude getting pretty excited about the various flavors provided by the Coca-Cola Freestyle.
