A few weeks ago, we told you about Tesla Motors’ plans to open a new store on the second floor of the Bellevue Square mall.  At the time, the maker of high-end electric vehicles didn’t want to say too much about the new store. Now, a few more details are emerging.

The new Bellevue Square store will open November 5th, and feature a prototype of the company’s Model S electric sedan. A spokeswoman for Tesla also confirmed that the company plans to close down the showroom at its South Lake Union location, making that a service center for vehicles.

At the time of our last report, we thought it was a little weird to put an auto dealership in the middle of a mall.

But, as it turns out, it is not so unusual for Tesla. The Bellevue Square location will become one of four mall locations for the automaker. (It also has stores or “galleries” at Santana Row in San Jose, California; Park Meadows near Denver; and The Houston Galleria).

Obviously, Tesla caters to wealthy techies, so the Bellevue location near the headquarters of Microsoft and Expedia does make some sense.  (Tesla’s high-end Roadster, pictured above, sells for $109,000).
