Updated below with answer and winner.
This week’s Name that Tech Tune Challenge features a theme song for a landmark product that many of you know — but played on an instrument you’ve probably never heard it on before: a cell phone keypad.
For that reason, it’s a little more challenging than normal. But if you’re a fan of the song, you’ll be a big fan of this week’s prize. If you can make out the tune below, send your entry to email@example.com.
Here’s the MP3 file for anyone who has issues with the player above.
Once again, if you know the correct answer, send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
From the pool of correct answers, we’ll pick one person at random to win this week’s prize, a new release in the product line that the theme song represents. (Which is also a bit of a clue unto itself.)
Name That Tech Tune is a regular feature of the GeekWire radio show and podcast, coming up shortly on 97.3 KIRO-FM in Seattle and later this morning on GeekWire.com.
By the way, the answer to last week’s Name that Tech Tune was Nokia. We’ve updated last week’s post with details and the winners.
Thanks for playing!
Update, 11/19: The answer, as many of you knew, was the original Halo theme. See video below. Congrats to Aaron Bregel, whose name was chosen at random from the pool of correct answers to win “Halo Anniversary” for Xbox 360, the new remake of the original Halo game.
