[Update, July 29: Thanks to everyone who entered. Here's the answer and the winner.]

This week’s Name that Tech Tune contest is one of the most challenging we’ve ever run, and we’ve lined up a great prize for the person who ultimately wins: an HTC Sensation Android device, courtesy T-Mobile.

If you’ve never played before, here’s how it works: Listen to the sound below, and if you think you can identify it, send your answer to contests@geekwire.com by Thursday July 28 at midnight Pacific time.

From the pool of correct answers, we’ll randomly select one person to win the device. Ready for the challenge? Here’s the sound.

[Update: Some readers are saying that the audio player above isn't working (although it is for me). Here's a direct link to the MP3 for anyone having problems.]

We did give one hint during this week’s GeekWire radio show and podcast: It’s a handheld game device. Listen to the full segment below for our commentary and to hear the sound again.

Once again, send your entry to contests@geekwire.com if you think you know the answer.

A big thanks to T-Mobile USA for supplying the prize. Follow T-Mobile on Facebook and Twitter, and also look for T-Mobile (along with GeekWire and many others) at the gdgt live event in Seattle Aug. 5.

And, yes, the first ‘song’ is coming up as file not found…  The second ‘commentary’ is fine…

That’s strange, it’s working for me. At any rate, I’ve added a direct link to the MP3 above, and you can also get it here: http://cdn.geekwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/techtune9.mp3
