Sajal Sahay has joined Seattle mobile security upstart Mobilisafe as vice president of marketing with the goal of helping to bring the company’s first products to market.

“Device security is one of the key megatrends in the mobile industry, and Mobilisafe is poised to transform the category with a simple yet effective solution that is non-intrusive to employees, while providing IT managers the assurance they need,” said Sahay, who previously worked at H-P and T-Mobile.

Operating in stealth mode, Mobilisafe raised $1.2 million in May from Trilogy and Madrona Venture Group. It is led by former T-Mobile software architects Giri Sreenivas and Dirk Sigurdson. The company now employs seven people, and plans to move into new office space in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood later this month.

Theraclone CEO Clifford Stocks

Theraclone Sciences, a Seattle biotechnology company, has named Clifford Stocks as CEO.He takes over from venture capitalist Steven Gillis who had served as acting president following the unexpected death of CEO Dave Fanning in June 2010. Stocks most recently served as chief business officer for Calistoga Pharmaceuticals, a Seattle area biotech company that was sold to Gilead for $600 million.

Before that, the graduate of the University of Utah and University of Chicago worked at Icos for 15 years. The company — backed by ARCH Venture Partners, Canaan Partners, MPM Capital, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Amgen Ventures and others —raised $41 million in a second round of venture funding earlier this year.

“Theraclone is positioned for success with superb product opportunities, a highly talented team, a savvy board, strong venture investor backing, sophisticated ongoing partnerships and multiple opportunities for future partnerships,” said Stocks.

Tommy Lee

BigDoor, the Seattle upstart that’s attempting to deepen engagement on Web sites through game mechanics, said that it has promoted Tommy Lee to vice president of business development and Carrie Peters to vice president of marketing.

Logan Bowers, the co-founder and vice president of engineering at Seattle startup Quorus, which was previously known as Fridge Door, has taken a job as senior software engineer at Amazon.com, according to his LinkedIn bio. Bowers is a former software engineer at Zillow, Microsoft and Expedia.

The Benaroya Company has named Garrick Sturgill as new facility manager for its South Hill Data Center and Boise Data Center. He previously served as general manager of CoreLink Data Centers’ operations in Seattle. Larry Benaroya said that Sturgill joins the company as it plans to expand its data center footprint.
