Medio Systems, a heavily-funded Seattle company that specializes in mobile analytics, has named Prabudda Biswas senior vice president of engineering. He will report to CEO Rob Lilleness, who took over the CEO post at the company in 2009.
Biswas — who holds a master’s degree and doctorate in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Massachusetts, Amherst — previously led the mobile, Web applications and middleware technology teams at VMware. Other stints included positions at Smartdesktop, Amazon.com and Oracle.
“Prabuddha has spent decades at some of the most data driven companies – from Oracle to Amazon – and his deep understanding of mobile and data will enable us to develop more innovative products and technologies for millions of users nationwide,” said Lilleness.
Backed by Accel, Frazier Technology Partners, Trilogy and Mohr Davidow Ventures, Medio is based in Seattle.
Todd Dean has a new gig. The former director of the Keiretsu Forum Northwest has landed as CEO at ProfitBI, a business intelligence company that helps manufacturers connect historical accounting information with future financial projections. Dean stepped down from the Seattle angel investment group, Keiretsu, last August after five years on the job. He later took a position as CEO of Brace Digital Wireless, a position he held for three months.
Powerit Solutions CEO Matthew Schiltz has been named to the board of Sesame Communications, a Seattle company developing online tools to assist dentists in their communication with patients.
“Sesame has already become the leader in dental online patient communication,” said Schiltz, a high-tech entrepreneur who previously led DocuSign and CourtLink. “I am excited to join a professional team with extensive industry knowledge and best-in-class, research-based service offerings which are redefining the quality of oral care, using technology.”
Her Interactive, a Bellevue gaming company known for its Nancy Drew titles, has named Stuart Moulder as CEO. Moulder previously worked at Sierra On-line and Microsoft. Megan Gaiser will retain her role as chief strategic creative officer, noting in a press release that the company will continue to bring its Nancy Drew franchise to “audiences around the world via a variety of games, platforms and applications.”
