Ayush Agarwal

Ayush Agarwal made a name for himself  in the Seattle area helping startups as a venture associate at Madrona Venture Group. The former business analyst at McKinsey & Company left the Seattle venture capital firm last summer to take on a new role at ExactTarget’s CoTweet unit. But now Agarwal has a new gig, joining Google as a project manager overseeing the AdMob developer products.

“I love the people and the culture, and am super excited about mobile advertising,” Agarwal tells GeekWire.

Nick Hughes, a Seattle entrepreneur and GeekWire guest contributor, has taken on the CEO role at Order.sm. The Seattle company says that it is devising a new mobile ordering system for restaurants. Hughes previously founded the Seattle marketing and advertising startup Loyaltize, and before that worked at Boeing. Hughes tells GeekWire that he co-founded the company recently with Jacques Crocker, formerly of Zaarly, and Gary Windels, who also works at Cobalt.

McKay

JJ McKay, who some call “Seattle’s greatest socialite,” has joined the advisory board of Newsweek DailyBeast. McKay, who also advises, U.S. Bank, Wetpaint, Internmatch and Reign Capital, called the position a “big honor.” When Tina Brown and Stephen Colvin of Newsweek DailyBeast came to Seattle a few months ago, McKay helped organize the party to entertain them.

Management consultant Arnie Alger, a former executive at Intermec Technologies, has been named CEO of Performance Partners Inc. The company also is working with Australia business intelligence software company Calumo to set up North American operations in Bellevue.

Deborah Hanamura has been hired as the director of marketing at Metia/Seattle, a digital marketing agency. She previously worked at IdentityMine.

Michelle Broderick, a former marketing manager at Yelp, Redfin and RealNetworks, has joined Uber as Seattle general manager. Broderick will oversee operations for the private driving service, which just launched in Seattle earlier this month. Jen Joyce, a former social media marketing manager at Hotel Max, also has joined the company’s Seattle operations as community manager.
