I’ve been coming to the Penny Arcade Expo, better known as PAX, since the first year, back when it was a modest gathering of a few thousand people in Bellevue. It has definitely grown into a spectacle over the years, but I’ve never seen it like this.

Arriving this morning at the Washington State Convention Center in downtown Seattle, it almost felt like walking into the Consumer Electronics Show, or E3, but with crazy costumes — and a lot more entertaining and fun.

If I’m understanding correctly, the line in the video above is the line to get into the lines.

Right now I’m waiting for a panel on the upcoming Halo Anniversary remake. There’s a line for that, too.

I’ll be posting as much as I can today and this weekend, depending on whether I can get a reliable connection amid this craziness. GeekWire readers, say hi if you’re here and you see me. Or better yet, post a message in the comments below.

See our earlier interview with Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade for more details on this phenomenon.
