Microsoft is holding a pair of big events this week in Anaheim, Calif., right across the street from the Happiest Place on Earth, but maybe the company didn’t need to travel this far after all.
A new study by employment site CareerBliss ranks the company’s hometown of Redmond as the happiest city for young professionals, according to Forbes, which notes that Microsoft’s presence in the city “could be responsible for making so many employees in the area happy.”
That’s a pretty safe bet, given the disproportionate number of Microsoft employees in the city. (Microsoft employs about 40,000 people across the Seattle region.) The factor pushing the city to the top of the list was satisfaction with benefits, an area where Microsoft has traditionally been strong.
Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Fla., were the No. 2 and 3 cities on the list.
