Redfin is rolling out a new iPad app today, one that includes photo galleries and a new sorting option called “Redfin Special Blend” that prioritizes homes that may be of interest to home shoppers.

“Why did we take the extra time to customize an app for the iPad when we could have simply tinkered with our highly rated iPhone app to make it work on the iPad? Taking the easy road has just never been our thing,” the company writes in a blog post. “Plus, we couldn’t contain our excitement for all of the awesome stuff that we could pull off with the iPad.”

Redfin’s iPhone app is highly regarded, and the company is building on that success with the iPad version. The free app focuses on photo galleries, with the company saying that the use of images is a “convenient way to quickly discover homes that catch your eye.”

We’ve seen a number of real estate companies embrace the iPad, most recently Windermere Solutions which just showed off a new app that allows agents to create dynamic marketing reports for potential clients.
