Judith Bitterli

RealNetworks this morning named one of its existing executives, Judith Bitterli, as the new senior vice president of its Unifi cloud computing division.

The news follows the surprise departure this month of Hank Skorny, the chief strategy officer and senior vice president who had been working on the company’s Unifi digital media synchronization service.

Mike Lunsford, who has been acting CEO since Bob Kimball stepped down earlier this year, said in a news release about Bitterli that the company has “come to rely on her judgment, intuition and ability to deliver results.”

Bitterli started working for RealNetworks last year as a marketing consultant for Unifi, and was later named the company’s chief marketing officer. She was previously co-owner of a direct marketing agency called Direct Impact working for clients including Sony, HP, Best Buy and Logitech. She worked in the past for companies including Micron Electronics and Softbank.
