This video, taken outside an Apple store under construction in Hamburg, Germany, is spreading around the Internet like wildfire this afternoon — destined to be a classic.

Almost as funny is seeing the difference in wording from the Apple- and Windows-oriented blogs. WinRumors calls them “pranksters.” Edible Apple raises them to the level of “vandals.”

No matter how many times you use Bing as a verb, it won’t sound as natural as Google as a verb.

If it doesn’t catch on it’s not cause it doesn’t sound like a work. Cause people have been using bing as a slang word for decades.

It won’t catch on cause not very many people use bing in comparison and google-ing something is like xeroxing something in the past.

The idiots that put up the Windows logo got the logo all wrong.

First of all, the colors are in the wrong order. They should be (going clockwise from top left corner) red-green-yellow-blue.

This also means that they got the white “glow” in the wrong corners of the green and blue squares.

Next, they got the angle wrong. The logo should be tilted down to the right with the left and right sides at an angle, but they have it tilted the wrong way with the sides vertical.

What a bunch of morons. They can’t even do their own “beloved” Windows logo correctly. ;-)

  • quph

I’m only surprised Apple has not yet condemned then as “terrorists”.

  • Steve Ballmer

To those worrying about the incorrect order of colors – it is a feature, not a bug.
No, seriously…it’s feature. Ballmer just told me.

  • http://twitter.com/kastbh Kaustubh Padegaonkar

Umm, the colors are wrong. It should be Red, Green, Blue, Yellow instead of Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. They also did not put up the BSOD.

  • Skip Harrington

This is funny people! Lighten up! Who was hurt in this “prank”? No one is who. Both companies got some publicity for free, some young people had some fun, and we the public had a laugh. To ascribe sinister motives to this act, is a bit over reaching.

  • Balzak

Haha.  Its all in the spirit of competition. Don’t forget why Apple is even successful at this point.  Gates invested $250M in Apple when they were going down to reinvigorate the quality of technology for the consumers by way of competition.  I’ll bet the two create the rivalry on purpose to boost sales.  I would.  The oldest trick in the book.  BTW check out some Apple store shirts for sale.  http://www.appleclothes.com
