Point Inside was an early pioneer in creating maps of indoor spaces, from shopping malls to airports to, most recently, theme parks. Now, the Seattle startup — which just scored $805,000 in angel financing — is looking to superimpose daily deals, special offers and coupons on those maps.

The company’s upcoming release for Android will feature those deals prominently on the maps, including special offers from national retailers and brands. Those features also will be rolled out on the iPhone and iPad in the coming weeks, said chief marketing officer Todd Sherman.

“Our users have told us they really want to see deals for the stores they shop. And now they can,” said Sherman. “Pick any mall and we’ll show the map of special offers and deals overlaid on the stores within that mall.”

In addition, the company is rolling out a feature that shows in-venue pedestrian navigation. That means you’ll never get lost at the shopping center again, right?

Point Inside isn’t the only company toying with the concept of putting mobile coupons in front of consumers when they want them. Heavyweights such as Groupon also have mobile offerings, and new startups such as Seattle-based Pirq are showing deals for local Seattle restaurants.

Point Inside has mapped some 1,100 shopping malls and airports since it was founded in 2009.
