The year is 2011, and all of your downtown neighbors are trying to one-up each other by installing elaborate depictions of old-school video game characters in their office windows using Post-it Notes.

So how do you top them? You break out the birds and pigs, of course.

Yes, the team behind mobile game platform PlacePlay brought out the Angry Birds today, taking Seattle’s Post-it Wars to a whole new level from their office at 4th and Union.

Bob Gale, director of product management at PlacePlay, tells us that the team had noticed Health Solutions Network‘s Pac-Man presentation in the building across the street a few days ago, and after reading our story earlier today, decided it was time to respond with characters more appropriate to their business.

“Seeing this, we thought we’d put our own stamp on it,” he said.

When we asked if PlacePlay might be able to somehow make a mobile game out of this competition, Gale said that actually might not be a bad way of showcasing what they do.

OK, so he was probably just humoring us, but hey, who says this stuff isn’t productive?

Update: Don’t look now, but Cheezburger is jumping into this thing.
