Contour CEO Marc Barros is moving just as fast as one of the snowboarders who use his company’s helmet-mounted 3-D cameras. And that speed is being rewarded with Contour being named as one of the top 10 fastest-growing privately-held companies in the U.S. by Inc. magazine, ranking 7th. That’s an impressive jump from last year when the company debuted in the 183rd slot.

“The company is growing like crazy,” Barros tells GeekWire, noting that revenues are expected to double again this year.

According to Inc., Contour — the top ranking Seattle area company on the list — reported revenue growth of 11,663 percent over the past three years. Its annual revenue now stands at $15.1 million, not bad for a maker of high-tech cameras used by adventure seekers.

No other Seattle area companies cracked the top 50, with Simplicity Consulting (revenue growth of 3,727 and revenues of $11.5 million) finishing in 55th place.

But Seattle actually fared pretty well compared to the other competitors, with 13 companies in the Inc. 500/5000 list. That tied Seattle with Boston and Miami. Washington D.C. led the list with 50 companies, followed by New York which had 43. LA had 42, and San Francisco, surprisingly, had just 19. (Facebook, Zynga, Seattle’s very own Zulily and other high growth companies did not appear on the list).

By my count, it looks 131 companies from Washington state made the expanded Inc. 5000 list. Here’s a look at all of those.
