Happiest Minds, a Bangalore, India-based IT consulting firm, has chosen Seattle for its first U.S. office. The company was started just three months ago by Ashok Soota who previously co-founded MindTree and served as president of Wipro Infotech from 1984 to 1999. During that period, Wipro grew from $2 million to a revenue run rate of $500 million.
“We expect the Seattle area to be a key element of our strategy and plan to set up a local development center as business scales to take advantage of the rich talent pool available in this region,” said Soota in a statement.
The firm specializes in building products and services in the areas of cloud computing, social media, mobility, security and analytics
Joseph Anantharaju is leading the company’s new software product engineering, a former MindTree executive who said that they expect the Seattle office to play a “big role in the growth of Happiest Minds given the preponderance of large local technology companies and enterprises adopting these technologies.”
