Thousands of geeks are headed to Austin, Texas this week to participate in the annual SXSW conference, the annual music, film and technology bash. And while there will be some cool things on display for sure, most people just want to know about the hot parties. Luckily, thanks to the PR firm Waggener Edstrom, there’s now an app to track the action.

The free Hot Spots @SXSW app is available for both iPhone and Windows Phone 7 (No Android?). Here’s a short description from Waggener Edstrom:

“It chews on real-time Foursquare data and spits out an up-to-the-minute heat map that shows which events are providing the most networking value for conference attendees in Austin.”

Unfortunately, we are missing out on the action in Austin this month. But if you are attending the interactive portion of the conference, let us know what you think of Waggener Edstrom’s new app.
