The Seattle tech community isn’t perfect, and we’ve certainly been willing to point out and highlight some of the deficiencies. But it’s also important not to lose sight of why so many of us choose to live and work in this mossy-covered corner of the world.

That’s part of the reason why I was struck by a recent video campaign, conducted by the PR firm Weber Shandwick in advance of next week’s WTIA TechNW event.

The effort, which includes yours truly along with GeekWire columnist Monica Guzman, showcases some of the cool stuff going on in the region. Others highlighted in this first batch of videos, include Matt McIlwain of Madrona Venture Group, Steve Wood of Perlego Systems and Vance Huntley of Vertafore.

I really liked the comments from John SanGiovanni of Zumobi who noted that Seattle is unique because it has a “large population of both artists and geeks.” Right on!

Here’s a look at each of the videos:

In the Madrona video:  “How did Seattle became a technology hub?”  Yikes.
