John and I first started podcasting more than a year ago, using some cheap USB headsets, after deciding on a whim to start recording our traditional end-of-the-week drinking sessions.

Never did we imagine we’d end up on the radio, but that’s where we’ll be, starting tomorrow, as our GeekWire show makes its debut on air at 97.3 KIRO-FM in Seattle.

We’re excited to be part of a revamped weekend lineup being rolled out by the station, sandwiched between some great new weekend shows by KIRO’s Linda Thomas (better known as the News Chick) and longtime radio host Bill Radke. GeekWire will air on KIRO on Saturdays at 7 a.m. and 1 p.m, and Sundays at 3 p.m. It will also air at 11 p.m. Saturdays at 770 KTTH AM.

The show will still be distributed as our weekly podcast, and available here on GeekWire on Saturday mornings. Regular podcast listeners know the format — including our weekly news roundup and regular guests from the Seattle tech community.

We’re looking forward to connecting with all of you, and with new listeners, in a new format (or at least a new format to us). Even without the beer, we’ll do our best to stay true to the feel of our original weekly boozefests … with considerably better mics.
