Daniil Kulchenko in the KIRO-FM studios

This week on the GeekWire Podcast, we get to talk with Daniil Kulchenko, the 15-year-old sophomore from Kenmore’s Inglemoor High School, north of Seattle, who this week announced the sale of his cloud-computing startup, Phenona, to Vancouver, B.C.-based ActiveState for an undisclosed sum.

It’s a pretty incredible story, and we had a great time talking with Daniil about how he built the company, how his friends reacted to the news, what he plans to do next, and many other topics. Hope you enjoy the conversation as much as we did.

That discussion starts at the 11:00 mark, after our opening Week in Geek segment — in which we talk about Amazon.com’s first employee, Microsoft’s Kinect SDK for Windows, and a new study showing just how much time we’re wasting spending on Facebook each month.

Here’s the MP3 file for this week’s show.
