GeekWire Gala: Darth Vader, tech legends and more fun from the photo booth

Who knew Lord Vader could be so much fun?

Team GeekWire had a blast celebrating with more than 500 of you last night at the first-ever GeekWire Gala in Seattle. And yes, the guests even included one of the world’s greatest project managers, who carved out time from his busy schedule to stop by the event.

Findwell CEO Kevin Lisota in his best evening wear.

We’ll be publishing a series of posts on the site today with highlights from the event,  starting with a gallery of pictures from the photo booth that was provided at the event by Red Box Pictures, the great team of photographers behind the GeekWire 2012 Calendar that was our gift to attendees.

You can watch a slideshow of the pictures below, including appearances by some of our GeekWire 2012 Calendar honorees, including Brady Forrest (below right, above) Shauna Causey and Hillel Cooperman, and our Newsmakers of 2011, including PopCap founders John Vechey and Jason Kapalka (below left, above).

Click on the thumbnail icon in the lower right to browse through and view individual pictures. You can also hit the pause button as the slide show is running to switch to manual controls.

Also see this follow-up post with video and more pictures from the event. In addition, we’ve posted all the pictures on our Facebook page to tag and share with friends.

Thanks to event sponsors ZillowBingFilter, King5FacebookthePlatform, Startup Weekend and Heinz Marketing for helping to make this special evening possible.

I think John, Todd, Rebecca and the whole geekwire team are working their asses off to give the Seattle tech community real opportunities to connect with each other. I think this is pretty admirable, and it’s appreciated. Thank you.

Clearly I should clear my wardrobe with our PR department next time. Oh wait, our PR person encouraged me to dress like this!

    Thanks for another great event.

You were robbed Kevin. Can’t believe the judges didn’t give you a “best dressed” nomination. :)

Yay, go Garrison Titan!  (I was Boba Fett…)

The Force is strong with you, GeekWire!  Thanks again for all your hard work on this great event; our Filterati had a fabulous time celebrating the tech community with you!  And of course, huge props to all the “bad guys doing good” of the Garrison Titan — thanks again for hosting the Filter Cantina with us! :)

Much Jedi gratitude to our allies at Geekwire. The event was truly epic. I shall now return to training the best project managers in the galaxy at Filter’s Earth headquarters.

Great party, guys! I look insane in these photo booth pics. What was I thinking. Near the end. Watch out.

Monica, HA! that was almost exactly my same response when I saw *my* photo booth pics: SMILING TOO HUGE! TOO EXCITED! LOOK INSANE! :)

  • Michaela
