Here’s a vending machine that only a true geek could love (and no it doesn’t include free soda pop or video games). Facebook has begun experimenting with a new vending machine at some of its offices, which dispenses everything from keyboards to power supplies to computer screen wipes.
Facebook CIO Tim Campos showed off the device in a video with Fortune.
No word yet on whether Facebook plans to install the high-tech vending machine in the company’s new Seattle office. But when Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was in town earlier this month he did tout the region’s engineering talent.
And everyone knows that a geek is only as good as his or her accessories.
In the Fortune interview, Campos notes that the vending machines have helped to reduce costs at the company. If all goes as planned, he said they will replace all of their supply cabinets with the geeky vending machines later this year.
