Marchex, the Seattle call advertising company, reported net income of $80,000 and revenues of $38.8 million for the second quarter. That compared to a net loss of $3.2 million and revenue of $21.4 million for the same period last year. Marchex CEO Russ Horowitz noted that the performance indicates that its bet on “Digital Call Advertising is beginning to pay off.” More on their earnings here.

Market Leader, which earlier today announced the acquisition of SharperAgent, posted a 43 percent increase in revenue during the second quarter to $8.3 million. The Kirkland provider of online tools to real estate agents also trimmed its quarterly net loss to $2.8 million. More here.

Blue Nile, the online jewelry retailer, said that its net sales grew five percent during the quarter to $80.5 million even as diamond and metal prices increased. The Seattle company, which tallied net income of $2.8 million, also reported that Mark Vadon will no longer serve as executive chairman, instead taking on the role of chairman of the board. Bsquare’s revenue fell 13 percent during the quarter to $23.4 million as the Bellevue company squeaked out a tiny profit of $22,000. CEO Brian Crowley remarked: “We have talked for several quarters about various investments the company is making such as our Handset Certification Platform, or HCP, sales expansion in Europe and Asia, and the expansion of our Asia development platform. Some of these investments are still in their infancy and some are just beginning to pay off.” More here.
