Charles Harper

DoubleDown Interactive, maker of the DoubleDown Casino game, said that it has surpassed more than one million monthly users on Facebook. Meanwhile, the Seattle startup also announced that it has added Charles Harper as vice president of development.

Harper has more than a decade of experience in the online gaming world, having previously worked in management roles at RealNetworks, ScreenLife and WildTangent.

Harper’s appointment marks the second top executive that the company has hired in recent months, following the appointment of former Big Fish Games CFO Glenn Walcott as president.

DoubleDown is led by Greg Enell, a former Microsoft and WildTangent employee who founded casual games maker G12 Interactive. (It was later sold to Big Fish).

“I can’t think of a more strategic time to bring in someone of Charles Harper’s caliber,” said Enell said in a release. “Charles is a proven deal maker in the online and mobile gaming markets and is perfectly suited to secure the key partnerships that will enhance our product offering and expand our distribution across existing and new platforms.”
