Maybe they shouldn’t have spent all of that time painting the Qwest Field roof last summer? Reports circulating today indicate that the Seattle sports stadium — home to the Seattle Sounders and Seattle Seahawks — will be renamed after CenturyLink later this year.

Based in Louisiana, CenturyLink is in the process of merging with telecommunications giant Qwest for $22 billion. The Omaha-World Herald broke the story today, noting that the Qwest Center in Nebraska’s largest city also is getting a name change.

Hopefully, the folks at CenturyLink can do something about the crappy wireless service around the stadium. Anyone still experiencing that?

At the home opener of the Sounders, I couldn’t get a signal on AT&T.
