TeachStreet founder Dave Schappell will be there, so will some of the goofy geeks from Giant Thinkwell. And word is that 96-year-old Geek of the Week, the legendary Bill Sleeper, also will make an appearance.

That’s right, the first ever GeekWire Meetup is just around the corner, a week from today. We’re expecting more than 200 people for the bash. You can see the full list of attendees and get your own tickets here. But to the dismay of GeekWire mascot, Henry, no dogs are allowed.

Things will get rolling Thursday, October 27th at 5:30 p.m. at the Spitfire in Belltown, with our Q&A with Zillow co-founder and former Expedia CEO Rich Barton starting at 6:30 p.m.

We’re also excited to introduce a live version of our popular Name that Tech Tune contest. You may have heard this quirky contest on our weekly radio show and podcast. But this will be the first time that we bring it to a live audience.

A big thanks to our generous sponsors — thePlatform and Business Wire — who will be handing out prizes to the winners.

Looking forward to seeing everyone next Thursday. And, if you haven’t registered yet, get your tickets here.
