Expedia has outgrown its downtown Bellevue headquarters location in Tower 333, and as a result plans to expand into a nearby office building in the downtown core, GeekWire has learned.
“We are expanding our office footprint in downtown Bellevue to accommodate the growth of our employee base here,” said an Expedia spokeswoman. She declined to specify lease details, but a source tells GeekWire that the company is planning to take roughly 60,000 square feet in the 24-story Skyline Tower at 10900 NE 4th Street. That’s one block east of the company’s headquarters, dubbed the Expedia Building.

Expedia is in the process of spinning off its TripAdvisor unit, but the spokeswoman said that the hiring efforts and growth plans in Bellevue are not tied to that event.
Expedia announced its plans to move to Tower 333 in 2007, taking over about 348,000 square feet at the time. It remains the largest tenant in the building.
An additional 60,000 in square feet represents a sizable chunk of space, with room to accommodate as many as 300 employees.
