Everything Amazon.com does these days is being scrutinized for ties to its expected Android tablet launch, a possible offshoot of its Kindle e-reader. Over the weekend we spotted Amazon’s trademark filings for its Lab126 unit, the group that makes the Kindle, wondering if it could be connected to the upcoming announcement.

Now a couple of domain-name registrations by the company are raising similar speculation. Amazon has registered the domain names KindleScribe.com and KindleScribes.com, according to a report this morning by Fusible.com. The names currently aren’t being used for a public website.

We checked, and there aren’t any current U.S. trademark filings for the KindleScribe name.

Assuming that KindleScribe is a name that company plans to use in some form, it could easily be a feature or initiative related to the Kindle, as opposed to the name of a new Amazon device, but you never know. Slashgear takes a wild guess that it could be for a new Kindle with a stylus.

For what it’s worth, earlier this month, Amazon also registered the KindleAir.com domain name.
