Adapx, the maker of data capture and digital pen software technologies, has released a new version of its Capturx software that now allows workers in the field to more easily send that information to SharePoint. From there, employees can integrate the field data into databases, content management systems or back-end CRM systems.
As an example, Holland America Line has begun using the technology for HR paperwork so that recruiters and other personnel can collect data via digital pens and then share that information almost instantaneously with others at the company’s headquarters.
ShaRonne Hanson, manager fleet crew medical at Holland America, said that they now can get information in real time in order to speed up hiring decisions. As information is written in ink on paper, it is also stored in a digital pen. When forms are completed, crews in the field can then send that information via PCs or cell phones to SharePoint.
Led by former Microsoft executive Ken Schneider, Adapx raised $5 million in May from existing investors OVP Venture Partners, Paladin Capital Group and Pelion Venture Partners. To date, more than 800 customers have used the technology with a heavy concentration in the military, defense and intelligence industries.
The Adapx’ announcement was made today at the Microsoft SharePoint Conference in Anaheim, California.
