There’s been a lot going on in TechStars land:

  • TechStars for a Day : We had a great event at Perkins Coie offices on May 24. We had over 100 attendees and had some great presentations from mentors from All Star Directories, Feedburner, Urban Spoon, and White Pages.
  • Applications : We’ve received over 400 applications for TechStars in Seattle.  This is a huge success. Thanks to all of you who helped to make this happen. Special thanks to Seattle 2.0 for letting me post community updates.
  • Screening : we’re now attempting to process the applications. By Monday, we’ll have done an initial screen and narrowed the list down to about 50.  We’ll be doing a final screening over the next two weeks.
  • Finalists: The final group of 10 companies will be announced on June 16.
  • Corporate Cocktail: We selected Long Island Iced Tea as TechStars in Seattle drink.  We chose this cocktail after long deliberation. There were lots of applicants. We chose it because it has lots of ingredients. Packs a punch. Makes you very happy. :-)  We also chose it because the non-alcoholic version is quite good and we liked the idea of having a corporate cocktail that you’d be just as fine having at noon as you would at midnight.
