We love startups and hackers and wanted to make sure there was some room for attendees to demo at our newest conference Deploy 2010. We had planned to pick the demos the day of from attendee submissions, but many of you told us you wanted to apply now. So we are pivoting and we will pick 4 startups to demo ahead of time based on the application, and the other 4 will be selected at random the day of the event.
What do I get?
Three minutes to demonstrate a product or concept to this audience of technologists including our awesome speakers.
What should I talk about?
We don’t have many restrictions on topics, but we highly recommend the talks be technical in nature and pertain to software development.
Here are some ideas:
- An API that your product provides
- Demonstrate how integrating solution X can cut development time.
- Show how you used a technology to solve a unique problem.
- Explain how your startup can help other startups ship faster.
Do I get to do slides or a demo?
You can if they are online. Because of time constraints you can only use our computer and what you can access online. But if you put your slides on SlideShare or make them into a video on YouTube you can run them.
How do I apply? How much does it cost?
Please send me an email with a 100 word description of your demo and a link to editors-at-seattle20.com by 5:00pm Wednesday if you want to enter. There is no application/demo charge, you just have to pay for your ticket to Deploy.
What if I don’t get picked?
Don’t despair, we will select an additional 4 startups / people at random to demo the day of the event. Just submit your name at the registration table.
